Dear City of Los Gatos (Attention: Ryan Safty),

As a concerned resident, I am writing to express my strong opposition to the proposed 13-story development at 14288 Capri Drive, also known as "Vista Capri." While I recognize the need for additional housing, a project of this scale is simply not appropriate for our community.

My primary concerns include:
 

• Traffic congestion – A high-density building of this size will significantly increase traffic in an already impacted area, affecting safety and commute times.

• Environmental impact – The height and density of this project raise serious concerns about its compliance with environmental review standards.

• Zoning inconsistencies – With local multi-use zoning height limits set at 45 feet, this proposed 167-foot structure would be nearly four times the allowed limit, fundamentally altering the character of our town.

This development would overshadow neighboring homes—both literally and figuratively—by disregarding Los Gatos' carefully planned aesthetic and livability.

I urge the city to thoroughly evaluate this project under CEQA and reject any attempt to bypass critical environmental and traffic review standards. If the project moves forward to the Planning Commission and Town Council, I implore our local representatives to prioritize the needs of residents over outside developers and deny approval. Furthermore, if necessary, the Town should challenge Builder’s Remedy projects in court to clarify how far beyond zoning requirements they can go. The legal framework remains unsettled, and this is an opportunity to protect our community from unchecked overdevelopment.
